Architecture: Architecture

MOM Park is one of the brand new large-scale building complexes of Inner Buda, which was created by building development of the lot emptied by the demolishing of the former optical Works. The offices and the shopping centre of MOM Park was designed by Antal Puhl, architect, winner of the Ybl Award, while the residential complex behind it was designed by Tamás Noll.

With the construction of MOM Park not only a new city centre was created in Buda, but also a unique building complex which may show direction to the future with its green surroundings and multifunctional opportunities.

The architects of MOM Park put an emphasis on giving preference to such architectural solutions which followed the traditions of the capital. A great example for this is the outer face-work, the warm limestone of Süttő, which follows the pattern set by the public buildings built in Budapest at the turn of the century.

MOM Park has rightly been named a park, since this is the first development in the capital, following international trends, where, having erased the former “brown zone”, an entire green district was built with a shopping centre, office blocks and exclusive apartments. In half of the territory public parks, alleys, inner roads, relaxing zones, and, in the office blocks, terraces have been created, so the visitors and the employees may enjoy the green areas too. It is a unique feature that several of the restaurants and cafes of the shopping mall have a terrace, which make pleasant oases in the city’s heat in summertime.
